My Typical Malaysian Mind : Part 1

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Being living in Bangi and working in PJ with only “enough to eat and live” salary really makes me think about driving my car to work. The truth is, I’ve been driving to work since my first day of work on September 2006. But, it took me nearly 7 months to realize that I’ve been feeding my car more than I bought thing for myself with the salary. What do you expect? A one day journey cost me about RM10 for my petrol(return journey) and RM3.60 for toll (return journey also). Can you imagine, I haven’t include in my lunch expenses…and I have always thinking about, if a guy like me wanna start a family with my current salary, I’m surely they can barely survive with the house rent, daily expenses, petrol (if the husband is driving a car) or maybe bus or train fare. Furthermore, I can even imagine if a couple just have their first born child, then, the expenses will be unbearable with the husband current salary. And actually, I’m imagining myself on the situation, from my personal opinion, I will be feeding my family with rice and dried fish daily…lol(just kidding…)

It’s been 2 or 3 weeks(i didn’t quite remember) since I found my solution to cut cost on journey expenses…taking public transportation and luckily, the station just a walking distance from my office..and what the h*ll, i never notice this before? Yeah, you need to sacrifice your “sleep after subuh” and quickly dressed up to take the train. What do you expect, a train journey from UKM to Kl sentral took me about nearly an hour! An another half an hour on changing train and arriving at my office, so an early woke up is near to compulsory. And why did actually, I decided on taking the train? For new rig setup, for my future studying life again (when oh when…)and for dual-core…ahaha…

Being in KTM Komuter, for those who don’t know, is like commuting inside a standing coffin. With all people cramped together inside the train, it forcing you to stand still without any space to move. If you wrongly move your hand whatsoever, you might ended up spanking some women asses inside the train…ahahah, and you won’t like it when they started to scream “pervert, pertvert”…But, luckily, haven’t see this scene happened inside train before. And yes today, another train ride return journey from my office to KL Sentral. I know i will never get any seat and when I’m changing train at KL Sentral, it even impossible to get a seat!

As usual, the one thing I don’t really like with KTM Komuter is the passenger who wanted to enter the train, is so damn unpatient. Usually with LRT, there is no such problem maybe they got more staff to handle the passenger flow inside and out of the LRT but not Komuter. Even early at morning, people will even scold you if you don’t give any space for them to slip in the “sardine can”. But yet, I’m comparing this with my bachelor life living with parent, and yes, it will bring differences. I do understand the facts that this people have more comitment after works with family and house matters. At least, do have some manner and ethique because that what make us actually different from others. What’s wrong with giving way for passengers from the train to exit thoroughly then we all enter. It will return to the facts that it is all about myself. ” I ” need to cook, ” I ” need to fetch my kids and you just barged knocking and pushing each other for the “I” ness need. I’m not angry with them, I just showing my sympathy and worried as one day the ” I ” nees syndrom might attack my vulnerable self ethique…ahaha…

And during the commute from KL Sentral to UKM, i was standing (yeah, dreaming for a seat actually…)in this full train next to a lady, an Indian lady. At first, I was a little bit angry since the lady was leaning to the grab bar(the one that i can reached in this “sardine can” rain) and I had a hard time to actually get a hold on that bar, but I just ignored it since I got my Sony Ericsson w800i earset plucked to my ears. I didn’t noticed anything strange from the lady until the train passed almost 4 station and slowly became spacy as the people started to vacant on every station. And the lady is actually pregnant! Oh my God, the lady is pregnant, and she had been standing beside me for almost half an hour and the point is, nobody even bother to give seat to her. Is it really hard to give the seat to the one who needed? I can forgive the fact that it was hard to see the lady with all the people standing and even me, myself don’t even noticed until the very end. I knpw it is really hard sometimes to give our seat to old people because some of them will ignore your generous offer, but for a pregnant lady, i doubt that they will decline the offer. Maybe I’m a little bit sensitive with pregnant lady issue since my sister also pregnant but it is actually our own manner and “adab” with others. Is not like you gonna died if without seating for an hour journey ( i know i don’t, but loosen knees?Yes…)

p/s: Was intended to submit this post yesterday, but as usual my best effort basis streamyx is just below par….lol
